NOTE: I am a writer for Pioneer Services and have been since 2003. I have tried my best to make this entry as neutral as possible, and have it conform to Wikipedia's standards. I am also willing to dump the "Awards" section of this proposed addition if anyone thinks it too marketing-esque.MarkD4700 (talk) 20:18, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- I would advise dumping both the "Awards" section and the list of branches (Wikipedia is not a directory). But the fact remains, you have a very strong conflict of interest here, and would be advised not to put this into articlespace, as it's likely to be rejected as advertisement. (Phrases like "the military community" don't help; that's marketing jargon.) --Orange Mike | Talk 15:20, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Mike. I'll tweak the language a bit, and dump the awards (even though they are noted in outside sources, and I thought they'd show the company isn't just some random place, but nationally recognized, even by the Dept. of Defense) and the office locations. I can even remove the link to the corporate site. In short, I'll do every single thing I can to make this "not an ad" (which I evidently failed to do). Now, the CoI is still an issue, and making me think this would probably be better on Wikicompany, rather than here. Thanks so much -- I'm really not trying to game the Wikipedia system or anything, and am more than willing to follow whatever the community decides. MarkD4700 (talk) 17:06, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Pioneer Services is a finance company that exclusively serves American military service members, providing unsecured loans, promoting financial literacy, and other financial services. Started in 1932 as part of a family auto dealership, the company began serving the military market exclusively in 1986.
In 2007, the company was acquired by MidCountry Financial Corp., a billion dollar diversified financial services holding company, making Pioneer Services the military banking division of MidCountry Bank.
