Global Warming[edit]

According to Houghton (2005) Global warming is a phrase that refers to the effect on the climate of human activities, in particular the burning of fossil fuel and large scale deforestation. He further stated that, Greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide accumulate in the atmosphere and trap heat that would normally exit into outer space. Global warming has become a global issue although it is hostly debated in international circles. It has a fair share of supporters and critics. Its supporters warn that if immediate preventive steps are not taken it will have a devastating effect on future humankind. Its detractors argue that the problem is grossly estimated and nothing should be done. They also argue that the steps to attempt the problem will hinder economic progress.
