PARIS-B is a gallery specializing in contemporary art, located in the Marais district of Paris.
History
[edit]PARIS-B (formerly Galerie Paris-Beijing) was founded in Beijing in December 2006 by Flore and Romain Degoul, in the heart of the 798 Art District.
During the booming era of contemporary art in China at the time, the gallery aimed to provide an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary Chinese photography.
In 2009, PARIS-B opened a second space in Paris to promote contemporary Asian photography to the public, introducing artists such as Ren Hang, Liu Bolin, Yang Yongliang, Yang Yi, and Wang Ningde.
The year 2014 marked a turning point for the gallery as it moved to new premises on Rue de Turbigo in Paris and expanded its programming to include visual artists from various backgrounds, such as Sebastian Wickeroth, Mehmet Ali Uysal, and Volkan Aslan.
Starting from 2017, the gallery dedicated a part of its exhibition space, called PBProject, to supporting and nurturing emerging artists, showcasing works by artists like Baptiste Rabichon, Lucia Tallova, and Léa Belooussovitch.
The gallery has an international presence through its network of partner galleries, participation in art fairs (Paris Photo, Art Miami, Art Stage Singapore, Drawing Now Art Fair, Art Basel Hong Kong, and Art Brussels), festivals (Rencontres d'Arles, Images Vevey), and institutional partnerships (Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Musée de l'Homme, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Musée de l'Elysée in Lausanne).
The gallery regularly publishes books and monographs dedicated to its artists and exhibitions.
PARIS-B is a member of the Professional Committee of Art Galleries and also of Paris Gallery Map.
