I'm a PhD candidate in the joint Communication & Culture Program at York University. I hold an MEd from Brock University and a BSc from the University of Toronto at Mississauga. My doctoral research looks at the intersections of gender and race in the way that gender-based violence is represented in Canadian media and policy. Other research interests include immigration experience and the Asian diaspora, food and politics, and women’s and girls’ empowerment.
