John Mernagh was a member of the Society of United Irishmen which was a revolutionary republican organisation which launched the Irish Rebellion of 1798. During the Rebellion he was one of Wicklow leaders and fought alongside Michael Dwyer.[1]

Mernagh was born in 1772 in Ballinaskea, Glenmalure, Co. Wicklow, Ireland[2]
