Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Academy/Quicklinks
I am an instructor at the Counter Vandalism Unit Academy (or CVUA). This means that I teach new vandal patrollers how to identify and deal with vandalism and a whole lot more. I have developed borrowed User:Callancecc programme, which covers all of the basics of anti-vandalism and some more which you will come across around Wikipedia. I will be happy to adapt this for induvidual users with experience in some areas, or where a user wishes to focus on a specific area; just state that in the form I will give you after signup.
For each student, I will create an "Academy" page at User:Username/CVUA, where I will keep them updated on the progress of their course. I will provide lessons and give tasks to users I tutor to help them develop their anti-vandalism skills. Once a user has completed the course, I will give them five days, during which I will monitor their activity; at the end of this time, I will set them a test. If there are no major problems during the monitoring phase and they are successful at the test, the user will graduate.
- I cover 4 main areas:-
- Theory of vandalism
- Manual, undo and rollback functions
- Tools (if user wants to - this part is optional)
- Practical implication
All CVUA enrollees are welcome to use the following user box during their instruction - {{User CVUA|enrollee}}.
As well as this programme, I will offer whatever extra support is required to those I teach. I always welcome users raising questions or problems at my talk page and will do my best to address them. Once a user has graduated, I am still completely happy to give them all the advice and/or support that they need.
