Hi, my name is David York.

I have acquired an extremely broad and varied set of knowledge, skills and experience over the years which serve as the basis for my writing and other pursuits.

Since I retired as a clinical medical provider (MD) after 25 years, I am looking for new challenges. In particular I am focusing on a variety of problem solving opportunities. Recently I expanded my knowledge domain by adding a major in Applied Mathematics and Statistics to my Bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry to refocus on solving quantitative problems. Now I am looking to study at the Masters level part-time in Applied Statistics. I completed an MBA degree and a Graduate Certificate in Health Administration in 2002.

I am particularly interested in information technology in the context of clinical data retrieval and analysis. I have a strong working knowledge of Java, SQL, the R language, SAS and HTML. I also code in fortran, basic and JavaScript.

Writing papers and essays has been an integral part of my studies and work throughout my careers. With regard to marketing and business related copy, my M.B.A. program was rife with writing opportunities.

I consider Science and Technical writing to be my forte, with my background in Biology, Medicine, Mathematics and Chemistry.

I look forward to working with the Wikipedia community.
