MELANATHAM is a panchayat union located in the Tiruvarur District of Tamilnadu State. Melanatham is basically depends on agriculture, like rice, groundnut, Vigna mungo, Sugarcane, Coconut,sesame. More than 2500 peoples lives in the village,  Melanatham is very quite and beautiful place in the Mannargudi Taluk - Thiruvarur District, many peoples lives in Singapore, Malaysia, united states, canada, united Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Hong kong and many countries in the Universe. Very big and oldest Banyan tree is in the center of the village, it have the age of more that 500 years old. Temples like Mariyamman, Vinayagar, idumban, Kurumburuvar, Nondi Veeranar, and ayyanar.  Very big pond in melanatham is serudhundan locates in South east street.
