Odete Muximpua

Odete Muximpua (Quelimane Quelimane, Mozambique), is a Mozambican engineer, being the first woman of Mozambique with a master's degree in engineering.

Biography

Muximpua was born in the small coastal town of Quelimane in Mozambique and was raised by her mother and grandmother.

In 2000 passed with distinction in the examination of admission in Eduardo Mondlane University. In his third year of university he had the option to choose between hydraulics and construction. She chose the first one, being the only one of the class to specialize in hydraulics.

In 2004, after completing the bacharelato, Muximpua began working as a researcher at that university. It also studied the sustainable use of water resources and improved community water supply by undertaking projects to improve the community.

In 2007, Muximpua applied for the job of analyst to assist in the work on the national urban strategy of Mozambique for water and sanitation.
