Trial by Fire is a young adult paranormal romance novel, written by Josephine Angelini. The plot follows 17 year old Lily Practor who wishes to escape her world of heart break and hospitals, only to be pulled into a universe with a raging war she is forced to take part in. Trial By Fire is followed by Fire Walker, the third and final book's details have yet to be released.

[edit]The world is working against Lily Practor, between her severe allergies that denies her a regular teenage life and having to worry about her crazed mother, Lily Practor is the furthest thing from normal. Lily wants nothing more than to enjoy the experiences that most teenagers take for granted, which is why she is eager to have fun at her very first high school party. But things take a turn for the worst when she is embarrassed in front of her peers, seeking an escape from her life Lily wished for a way out. Suddenly she wakes up in a Salem that is completely different one than she grew up in, a Salem over run by creatures and powerful women, who call themselves crucibles, the most powerful and cruelest crucible of them all is Lillian. Lily’s identical other self in this alternate universe. This new universe brings a world of new experiences, Lily comes to realize that what had made her a freak in her world is what makes her extraordinary in New Salem. But this discovery is also a blessing and a curse, the responsible that comes with her powers may prove to be too much for Lily to carry. Force to a pick a side in war she has no part of, in a world she that is as much a mystery as the feelings she develops for a complete stranger. Does Lily have the power to save this world, when the person she needs to defeat is herself?[1][2]

[edit]Josephine Angelini is an international best-selling author of Young Adult Fiction novels. Born into a family of 10 including her and was the youngest of 8 siblings. She grew up on her family’s farm in Massachusetts, United States and she attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts. Josephine graduated with a major in theater, solely focused on studying the classics. Josephine now asides in Los Angeles, California, living with her screen writer husband, their new born baby girl and 3 shelter cats.[3][4]

[edit]Josephine has a total of 5 books published and 1 e-novella (a short story, only available as an e-book). Her works include her completed trilogy, Starcrossed and the first and second installment in her WorldWalker trilogy. Josephine’s debut series consists of Starcrossed, Dreamless and Goddess, published under Harper Teen, Josephine has received high praise from LA Time as well as won 2 Reader's Choice awards in Germany.[5] The story follows a teenage girl named Helen Hamilton, who has always been different from the other kids. When the Delos family arrives to the Nantucket, Helen's quiet world gets flipped upside down when she discovers she is just like the Delos family, descendants of Greek Gods.
