Edna Phillips (1922-July 16, 1992) was a woman from Cynon Valley, Wales who was murdered on July 16, 1992 at the age of 70 years. Her death, less than three weeks after that of James Bulger shocked England. She was strangled to death with the leash of her dog then repeatedly stabbed or slashed 86 times.[1]

Prior complaints included neighbors who were drunken, on drugs, playing loud music, incessant-name calling, dumping of rubbish in her garden and smearing of excrement on her windows.
