Paleoceanography:

Notes-

·      Is each fact referenced with an appropriate, reliable reference?

Academic source, Oxford – but some directly related to subject, others are just about paleoclimates in general

Doesn't include any of these:

·      Blog posts and social media

·      Press releases and promotional material

·      Official websites

·      Self-published materials

·      Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you?

Influences factors of Mg/Ca ratio seemed irrelevant to this topic. Ocean circulation should have been combined with bottom-water temperature

·      Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?

Because the sea-surface temperature section is much longer than the other sections, it can be concluded that the author put more of an effort in finding information about SST and therefore was able to put in more of that information into the article. Salinity only has one source dedicated to it, so the effort to find more information pertaining to how salinity is a paleoclimate proxy would be beneficial and make the article less biased.

·      Where does the information come from? Check the sources. Are they neutral sources? If biased, is that bias noted?

Academic source, Oxford – but some directly related to subject, others are just about paleoclimates in general

unbiased

·      Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?

Salinity is greatly underrepresented. And ocean circulation and sea-surface temperature are overrepresented.

·      Check a few citations & references. Do the links work? Is there any close paraphrasing or plagiarism in the article?

No link to Cronin (ref 2), close paraphrasing for ref 16, no plagiarism

·      Is the page locked? Take a look at Wikipedia's protection policy - what is good or bad about this policy? How could it be abused?

Millions of people are on Wikipedia every second. Anyone can edit a page on Wikipedia and if inappropriate contents is seen by a bunch of users, it could cause Wikipedia as a source of information to lose its credibility. Paleoceanography is not locked. With a page that has no protection, anyone can edit it and the changes go live immediately.

·      Is any information in the article that is out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?

There is only one broad topic with sub topics underneath it. There is also only one graphic. Visual learners would better understand this topic if it included pictures such as
