Soroti City FC started in 2013 as Light Secondary School Football club after participating the Copa Coka-Cola district tournament.[1] It has been the first team in the North Easter Uganda to promoted to the FUFA Big League.[2] In 2020, Light SS changed it's name to Soroti City FC and in the same period, Bukedea Town Council changed to Black Power FC.[3]
