Hello. I joined Wikipedia in 2009. The first article I ever edited was Arthur Cravan (poet, boxer, troublemaker), after I wrote a paper about him in college. I typically contribute to articles related to history, cultural heritage, and the arts. I enjoy reading Wikipedia, and I often edit articles I happen to be reading.
Previous activities
[edit]From 2012 to 2014, I contributed heavily to the Lists of killings by law enforcement officers in the United States, and I still contribute intermittently.
In 2020 I created the article Bruce Johnson (minister) after learning about Johnson in the 2019 documentary film The First Rainbow Coalition by Ray Santisteban. Johnson was a Methodist minister who worked closely with the Young Lords in Chicago before he and his wife were murdered in their home in 1969.
In 2020 I created the category Self-taught artists (as distinct from Outsider artists, Naïve painters, and Folk artists).
I have participated in the following Wikipedia Edit-a-thons:
- Historic LA Buildings, 11 June 2020, hosted by the UCLA Library and the Los Angeles Public Library
- Black Artists Matter, 11 August 2020, hosted by the National Museum of Women in the Arts
Future plans
[edit]- I'd like to start an article for Nexus Press, which operated from 1976 to 2003 in Atlanta, Georgia.
- I'd like to start (or help work on) articles for the Art Strike Against Racism, War, and Oppression organized by New York artists in 1970, and the Women Students and Artists for Black Art Liberation (WSABAL). (Some info can be found on the Art Strike page.)
- I'd like to help expand Wikipedia's content on topics related to tenant organizing, such as tenants unions and rent strikes.

[edit]I contribute images relating to printmaking, book arts, and other topics to the Wikimedia Commons. Here are some of my contributions:
