Miguel Chacón was born in Mexico City, on January 13, 1962. He is a Mexican/American Creative, Executive Producer, Director, Special Event Creator, writer, painter and T.V. Show designer, an experienced creative person with a career of more than two decades.

Chacón’s TV shows, events and Television Specials for the Latino television audience have covered many themes and genres. His early productions of 65 live game shows: “Dando y Dando”; over 1500 talk show episodes: “El y Ella” and about 80 variety shows: “Padrisimo” formats were seen as an archetype of modern Hollywood, Florida and Mexico productions, generating unprecedented ratings for Telemundo Network.

In later years, his music events and television specials began addressing such genres as Salsa, Merengue, Regional Mexican and Latin Pop. For 5 consecutive years he produced in Miami, the largest street festival in the US: “Calle Ocho”. For 11 years the “New Year’s Special” broadcasted from Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida as well as in Los Angeles, California. For 13 years the largest Cinco de Mayo Celebration in the World: “Fiesta Broadway”. In 1999 and 2000, Chacon developed the logistics for the first ever Telemundo production event and television recording of the “Latin Billboard Awards”. Chacón executive produced the first ever concert for television with Mexican favorite “Vicente Fernandez en Concierto” broadcasted from Venezuela and two more after that aired from El Palenque de Aguascalientes in Mexico and from the MGM Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

In 2007, Chacón was the first Executive Producer to broadcast a Spanish Television Special coast to coast in High Definition in the United States with Viva Mexico “El Grito”, from Down Town Los Angeles, Huntington Park, CA and Mexico City, featuring Mexico’s President Vicente Fox, and “The Rose Parade” generating an exceptional ratings and revenues for Channel 22 in Los Angeles He also was a Supervising producer for “Homenaje a Juan Gabriel” and “Oscar de Leon 30 años de Exito”. In 2005 he produced “Los 50 más Bellos de People en Español”.

Chacón’s latest creations and productions include Mexico’s Bicentennial Celebration: “El Bicentenario” from beautiful Plaza Mexico in Inglewood, CA; “Concierto a Caballo Series”, a sequence of concerts in horseback, “Intimamente Series” from the magnificent Rancho Bonilla in Cuyama, CA; and Viva Mexico “El Grito” from Universal Studios Hollywood. He is considered one of the most popular and effective producers in the US Latino entertainment world.

Chacón was nominated 3 times for the Emmy Awards winning 1 for “La Silla Caliente” recorded with the Sony Studios backdrop which featured more than 100 Hollywood Spanish speaking Celebrities.

Early life: His Mother Raquel Alicia Lopez Quintero was a homemaker, and his father Miguel Chacón Ramos was a captain in the Mexican Army. He spent his childhood in Mexico City until the age of 8 where he saw the circus and got his passion for logistics, production and entertainment. In 1973, his mother and two sisters Maria Del Carmen (Nena) and Martha Alicia immigrated to the United States. Later in High School he fulfilled a requirement for photography class where he got his passion for motion pictures and television.

As a teenager, Chacón faced difficulty reconciling with his pairs for being a Mexican born in the United States. It was tough to have been a Mexican born, living in Los Angeles, learning a new language, speaking Spanish in an English speaking world. The pressure and prejudice almost make his ashamed to be Mexican and if not ashamed at least embarrassed, but that did not last long. Proud of his heritage and ready to learn something new, he studied the language faster and nearly forgot his native one”.

1990-1993 Casting Associate – Star Search – Television Program Enterprises. His first professional TV job came when he was hired to be a temp driver in Star Search, driving the contestants from the airport-hotel-theatre and vice versa. During the short brakes Chacon would volunteer in the production office where he became, in only two weeks, a production assistant. Within a month Production Executive Mr. Willard Tressel and Executive in charge of production Mr. Bill Ellis offered Chacon a permanent job as a Casting Associate. He would travel across the United States video taping the auditions as a camera person, ultimately to organize the auditions, radio promos and the entire coordination of 1000 performers per week-end, (500 on Saturdays and 500 on Sundays). He then obtained a position as a Production Associate in the Spanish version of Star Search “Buscando Estrellas con Budweiser”.

1993-1994 Casting Director – Sábado Gigante Internacional - Univisión In 1993 Maite Montenegro one of Sabado Gigante’s producer, approached Chacón to coordinate a last minute audition in Los Angeles, where he introduced a practical way to cast, a move that got him a freelance position as a casting director.


Mainstream breakthrough In 1994 Harry Abraham, Executive Vice-President of Programming for Telemundo Network, attended one of Chacón’s auditions where he have gotten very impressed with Chacón’s practical and precise way to produce the auditions and the way he handled himself with his 20 volunteers. Abraham offered Chacón his first Associate Producer’s roll in a Monday through Friday Primetime Live game show, where Chacón was responsible to create games and coordinate the logistics of the day to day activities, hiring coordinators, assistants and to line produce the live show. The show only lasted for 3 months but, El y Ella’s Executive Producer Gigi Graciette saw the ability that Chacón had to produce and to handle the office, the crew and the production team and immediately hired Chacón as a Producer where he produced over 1500 shows that delivered the highest ratings in Telemundo’s history, beating Univision almost on a daily basis. With the success of “El y Ella”, Francisco Arrieta, Vice-President of Production for Telemundo, offered him a position in the Network as a Production Executive to overseeing the networks productions. It was then that Chacón relocated to Miami, FL, where he aside of his responsibilities to oversee the networks production. He would also become the executive producer for a musical variety show Padrisimo where he produced 80 successful shows. In 1998 and 1999 was when Chacón began to produce the largest Cinco de Mayo Festival in the world Fiesta Broadway. In 1999, Manuel Martinez Executive Vice-President of Programming and Production, promoted Chacón to Director of Specials where he was in charge of the first Telemundo production: "The Latin Billboard Awards", and also served as an Executive Producer for Calle Ocho in 2000 and 2001. He also produced the first ever Vicente Fernandez concert for television, a negotiation that took 8 months to deliver a deal that no one believed he can accomplish. Chacón also executive produced the New Year’s Special’s Walt Disney World’s Fiesta de Año Nuevo in 1998, 1999 and 2000. At the end of 2000 Chacon and Telemundo came to an agreement to work together in a freelance basis.

2000-2006 President - Olimpia Entertainment Inc.

With a brand new house and a baby on the way Chacón opened Olimpia Entertainment and continued freelance work for Telemundo, Wald Disney World and All Access Entertainment where he executive produced Walt Disney World’s Fiesta de Año Nuevo 2001, 2002, 2003 & 2004, Calle Ocho, 2003 & 2004, Executive Producer and Director of Entertainment for Fiesta Broadway 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, Executive Producer for Vicente Fernández Desde Las Vegas 2003 taped in Hi-Def, Supervising Producer for Homenaje a Juan Gabriel taped in Hi-Def, Executive Producer for Oscar de Leon 30 Años de Exito, Executive Producer for Tucanes de Tijuana En Concierto from Universal Studios, California taped in Hi-Def., Executive Producer for Vicente Fernández Desde el Palenque de Aguascalientes, and Los 50 mas bellos de People en Español 2004.

At the end of 2004 Chacón took a hiatus to spend time with his family.

2006-2011 Executive Producer of Entertainment – Telemundo Network Group

In early 2006 Fatima Goncalvez Vice-president of Programming for channel 22, a local station in Los Angeles offered Chacón the position of Executive Producer of Special Projects where he restructured the budget of 5 specials per year and delivered 19 specials with the same budget including a Cinco de Mayo Celebration, a Viva Mexico “Un Grito de Independencia” a 3 hour Live Special from Oxnard, Los Angeles, Huntington Park and Mexico City celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day with Mexico’s President Vicente Fox, a series of Mariachi festivals celebrating Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Christmas Day and The Rose Parade that beat in ratings all the networks that aired the Rose Parade. Nine months later, Executive Vice-President of Entertainment for Telemundo, Mr. Carlos Bardasano promoted Chacón to Executive Producer of Entertainment and relocated Chacón to Miami, Florida where he created a series of concerts on horse back, presented in a Hollywood style with a typical way to perform in Mexico that was not presented in the US television. He also produced from Universal Studios Hollywood a two hour “El Grito” and a five hour New Year’s Special. For the 2000 year of Mexico’s Independence Chacón produced from beautiful Plaza Mexico in Los Angeles “El Bicentenario” Mexico’s Bicentennial Celebration. In 2008 Chacón began a quest to put together the event and produced the first Mexican Billboard Awards for television. A task that took three years that became reality in October 2011. In August 2011 Chacón was released from Telemundo.

In early September Chacón produced at the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles a Jenni Rivera Concert, with an attendance of 50,000 people aired in Univision for the 16 of September, celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day.

Currently he is taking the time to write a book “BALANCE”, several storylines for movies, new formats for television and searching for new adventures and productions.
