Mohammed Kareem Saeed known as Mohammed Hajee Kareem is an author and journalist, Former Executive Director of Kurdistan24 Company for Media and Research.[edit]

Early Life[edit]

He was born in the Rawanduz district of Erbil province in Iraq's Kurdistan Region. At a very young age, he moved to Iran with his family following the September Revolution (1961-1975). After a year, they returned to Iraq and were mandatorily relocated to the Shamiya district in Al Diwaniyah.They then went back to Rawanduz.[1]

Activities[edit]

He has been a co-founder of; Soran Cultural Center in 1997, Soran Sports Center in 1998, Soran Community for Disables in 1999, Zary Kurmanji Media and Cultural Center in 2005, Halgurd-Sakran National Park in 2011, and Rojava News Media Establishment in 2012.

Journalism Career[edit]

He has been writing for numerous magazines and newspapers since 1993,[2] including op-eds, columns, and investigative reports. He has been the heads of Khabat (Birayati) Newspaper, Soran Branch (1996-2005)[3], Kurdistan TV Satellite (2001-2012)[4], member of the editorial board of Chand Newspaper (1997), deputy Chief editor at Zozik Magazine (1999), Editor-in-Chief of Nwe Magazine (2000), Editor-in-Chief of the monthly Kowar Magazine (2006-2012), and Manager of Zary Kurmanji Radio, Website (2005-2012).

  • He has also been the supervisor of Azadi Rojavay Kurdistan – ARK, Kurdistan Daily Newsletter, PDKS Website, Rojava News Radio, News Agency in both Kurdish & Arabic languages (2012-2016)[5].

Moreover, he has been the head of Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate (KJS), Soran Branch (2008-2011), and as an expert, he has attended numerous court hearings of journalists representing the Syndicate. He is also an active member of the Syndicate and International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).

Before becoming the CEO of Kurdistan24  Company for Media and Research[6], in (August 2019- June 2022) he was Deputy CEO of the company for four years (2016-2019).

Education[edit]

He has finished the elementary and secondary schools in Rawanduz. He obtained his bachelor's and master's in media at Salahaddin University - Erbil[7].
