Purpose
[edit]It is my belief that administrators should be accountable to the community that approved them to have the administrative tools. At the same time, it is critical that administrators be able to effectively deal with controversial areas and editors and not be subject to retaliatory efforts to recall them. The purpose of this page therefore is to pledge my accountability to the community in a manner that is consistent with these two imperatives.
Criteria
[edit]My criteria for who may initiate the voluntary recall process are as follows:
- Any three administrators who are themselves in the voluntary recall category, and have been for at least 2 weeks prior to the request; or
- Any six editors in good standing. To qualify, the editor must have at least 400 article edits and not have been blocked in the preceding four months (any block placed by me that was subsequently overturned by consensus shall not count to disqualify a requestor).
Any individual request expires five days after having been made, in the event that a sufficient number of other editors have not joined the request. To prevent vexation, no individual editor may request my recall more than three times in a one year period.
Process
[edit]If a request for my recall is made pursuant to either of the above criteria, I pledge to do one of the following:
- Resign my administrative rights, stipulating that such resignation is “under a cloud” for purposes of regaining admin rights; or
- Stand for a reconfirmation RFA; or
- Stand for an RFC to determine whether I retain the trust of the community. For me to retain the tools, the level of trust consensus must be similar to that which would be required under a reconfirmation RFA.
