Mario Polit is a New York based Actors (SAG-AFTRA) and a Lieutenant with the FDNY over 20 years. He joined the NYC Fire department on May 9th, 1999. He got promoted to Lieutenant on March 1st, 2014 after serving 15 yrs. as a firefighter in L106 in Greenpoint, Bklyn. He currently works in Rockaway Queens, NY in Engine 268/Ladder 137 as the Lieutenant in the engine.

Born in Queens, New York on January 13th, 1968. He’s parents are from Ecuadorian dissent.the youngest of four siblings, Mario started taking acting classes at the age of 23, after seeing his older brother Jose in a play. He started studying at HB Studios in the West Village. He got his first movie role in 1996 “The Devil’s Own “starring Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt. Then in 2000 he starred in HBO hit series “The Sopranos” as Jesus Rossi aka “employee of the month” session 3 episode 4. From there Mario has starred on NBC “Law and Order” SVU and C.I. CBS “unforgettable ,“ ABC “Forever,” FX “Louie”, HBO series “Crashing” and “The Deuce.” And he will be starring opposite Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and Julia Styles in the upcoming movie “Hustlers” written and directed by Lorene Scarfaria due out September 13th, 2019

Mario says he feels blessed. To be able to have two careers in what I’m passionate about. Being a Firefighter and a Actor! Both goes hand in hand as I’m able to manage both.

Mario Polit is Married to Tonya Jacobs-Polit since September 3rd, 2006 and has a daughter named MiaRose.
