This is not a real article, yet. I'm just starting to put together a re-write of IPS panel

IPS (In-Plane Switching) is one of the technologies used to drive liquid-crystal displays. It was created to improve upon the older twisted nematic (TN) technology, which, although popular and responsible for the emergence of LCDs as a consumer product, had a few limitations which made their use inappropriate for certain activities.
