FltPlan.com[edit]

FltPlan.com is an online company which serves the general and corporate aviation community. Founded in 1999, it originally concentrated on flight planning, but has since expanded. FltPlan.com’s services now include flight tracking, e-APIS submissions, GPS RAIM predictions, and full-service, FAA-approved weather.

Overview[edit]

The FltPlan.com website provides information and tools necessary for more than 85,000 active pilots to create, file and manage flights within the U.S., the Bahamas, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and some Canadian/Mexican airports.[1] FltPlan.com assists in the creation of professional IFR flight plans and navigational logs. It provides IFR routing, winds aloft, aircraft performance, an airport database, frequencies, FBO information and recommended alternates.[2]

FltPlan.com was voted Best in Online Weather in the 2008 and 2009 Professional Pilot PRASE surveys.[3]

E-APIS[edit]

In April 2009 FltPlan.com announced its e-APIS (electronic advance passenger information service) manifest submission service. FltPlan.com was one of the first services to receive certification from the US Dept of Homeland Security/Customs & Border Protection (DHS/CBP).[4] Benefits of this eAPIS service include a user-friendly interface integrated with flight plans, storage of passenger, aircraft, aircraft owner and crew information for future eAPIS submissions, and access from any Internet-enabled computer with secure SSL technology encryption.[5]
