Colonel Zafar Ullah Khan was born on 19 November 1940 in the city of Murree. He was the son of Lt Colonel Doctor Abdul Qadir Khan (Shaheed) Military Cross and Ameerah baigum. At the age of eight his father got martyred and at the age of twenty three he joined PAKISTAN MILITARY ACADEMY and became an Officer. He got married in 1965. In 1965 he fought a war against India and got shot on the leg, In 1971 he fought another war against India. He was in the unit of 13FF and then later on joined Aviation where he flew fixed wing aircraft like Mashshak. He was awarded with TAMGHA E JURAT Bar by the Chief of Army staff ZIA UL HAQ. TAMGHA E JURAT is the fourth highest award in PAKISTAN ARMY. He had two sons and one daughter. After his Military Carrier he joined POLICE and afterwards Joined Mian Rubber and Tyre industries as GM. His eldest son also went to the PAKISTAN MILITARY ACADEMY and joined The Corp of Engineers. He than joined Army Aviation. He flew than the Chief of Army Staff GENERAL PERVAZ MUSHARRAF on a aircraft called Cessna citation V, he later on joined AIRBLUE and then joined TURKISH AIRLINE,his name is COLONEL NADEEM ZAFAR. His second son MAJOR NAVEED ZAFAR who also joined PAKISTAN MILITARY ACADEMY, he followed his footsteps and joined 13FF and also later joined Army Aviation. He flew [Mashak , Shewizer and [Aérospatiale SA 330 Puma|PUMA helicopter]] helicopters. He also flew the chief of army staff GENERAL PERVAZ MUSHARRAF. The whole family was army veteran. The great great grandfather of COLONEL ZAFAR ULLAH KHAN was KHUDADAD KHAN the first Indian to get the VICTORIA CROSS first highest award in the British army. Sadly COLONEL ZAFAR ULLAH KHAN passed away on 12 January 2016 at the age of seventy four and is buried in the ARMY GRAVEYARD IN RAWALPINDI. May ALLAH Grant Peace upon His soul.
