From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am currently a running start student taking classes at a local community college.  I love living an active life style and spending time in the forests and national parks.  I would prefer to spend my time outside enjoying nature and all the various activities such as camping, mountain biking, and hiking but I have chosen to prioritize my education.  I still love the outdoors, but I find that I have less and less time to really enjoy it.

I have used Wikipedia for years never questioning how articles were created or how reliable the information was.  In the future I would like to participate in the development of pages related to activities I am interested in.  Information accuracy plays an important roll in being an informed society, Wikipedia is a source of reliable information used by many people, keeping it a source of in biased information is not a job that can be done by one person but requires the assistance of all of its users.

Article review

[edit]

I am a huge motorcycle fan and have enjoyed riding them from the age of 3. Recently I have become infatuated with the new Africa twin, it is the perfect cross between the two styles of riding I love, dirt and adventure touring. I visited the list of Honda motorcycles page on Wikipedia, and I found three things that needed to be corrected: the new 2016 Africa twin is not included on the list, some bikes such as the older Africa twin (RD03) are missing linked pages, and the layout of the list makes it hard to find a specific motorcycle by name or year.

2016 Africa twin

[edit]

When I looked at the page I couldn’t see any sign of the new Africa twin or its other name the CRF1000L. This bike was newly released earlier this year and has been huge step for Honda as a company. The CRF1000L marks Honda's reemergence into the adventure touring and off-road scene.  Being such a large milestone, it was surprising to find it missing from the list.

[edit]

This page is incomplete, a most of the bikes have links but there are a lot of missing links or have dead links. The Africa twin (RD03) has a dead link, to fix this it could be linked to the still existing Africa twin page or it could have another separate page made for that bike.

Layout

[edit]

The layout of this page left much to be desired, this page sorted by engine size and name making it hard to find the bike that you are looking for.  Some bikes have newer and older models and with this layout it makes it hard to differentiate. To improve this page, it would be good to introduce new column or ways to sort the list, a few good things to be able to sort by are, year, cylinders, and type of bike.

Take away

[edit]

This page needs some work but as long as people still try to improve and maintain this page I believe that I will continue to become better. The purpose of this page is to link you to the individual pages for each of the bikes and to do its job it must be updated frequently and each of the pages it links to need to be checked for credibility. Over all this page needs some major work but it is a page that belongs on Wikipedia and requires our help to fix.
