César Alejandro Lopez Fuentes (born November 28, 1995), better known by his stage name Alejandro Slay, is a Peruvian rapper, singer and songwriter of various genres such as pop, trap and reggaeton.

Personal Life

He is the eldest of 2 brothers, he says that since he was a child he showed an irreverent and rebellious attitude, he has never made statements about his sexuality but he's a great supporter of the LGBT community. He has stated that he was a victim of bullying because he was overweight and that was the reason to start writing songs.

Career

Alejandro first had recognition by releasing his first single "Ridicula" that went viral in Peru and became a success in the LGBT community of the country. This single helped him develop a career as an influencer along with the impulse of the brands he worked with.

Growing up in an environment where a lot of pop and hip hop were heard, considering both rhythms as his biggest influences, in August 2018 he releases "Baby Boy" and in March 2019 "Malo", these singles were part of his new album, "Border Boy" released on November 28, 2019.


On June 17, 2022 he releases his third studio album 'Peruvian Popstar', an experimental pop album. The album debuted at #51 on Peru's most streamed albums.  This album was well received by the Peruvian press, and other Peruvian musicians, who praised Slay's versatility.  

Musical Style

Alejandro is an artist who mixes the alternative pop genre with hip hop, trap, Latin music, R & B, electronic music and reggaeton. Inkaton describes it as an "experimental pop".

Among his favorite artists he mentions Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Fifth Harmony, Belinda, Mabel, and series like Mindhunter and Ingobernable.
