Article Evaluation

[edit]

1. Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?

  • I believe the section of "relative measures of Poverty" is where some information is missing and more could be added. The section talks about 'critics' arguing on relying too much on income disparity can be misleading. More information is needed in terms of who are these critics and why are they reaching such conclusion.

2. Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you?

  • I believe most of the article is relevant to the topic. However, the section related to concerns on accuracy tends to distract a bit considering it talks about both overstating and understating poverty which could lead to people developing biases towards one stance.

3. Check out the Talk page of the article. What kinds of conversations, if any, are going on behind the scenes about how to represent this topic?

  • There are definitely a lot of conversations happening in the background. For example in regards to food security, questions were asked if food security a result of poverty? or do people exist who are food insecure but not living in poverty? one of the editor even believes the section does not believe in wiki.

4. Are there viewpoints that are over represented, or underrepresented?

  • I believe the section talking about factors could use more information.
