From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am a Research Chemist currently working in Singapore developing novel display technology. I have recently finished my PhD in developing and modifying the diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) technique for the geochemical exploration of gold, but nobody in Australia was interested in the tech (hahahahaha.... *sob*). Anyhow, upon discovering the complete lack of DGT info on Wikipedia, I decided to start an article on the topic, primarily to keep my interest up in environmental chemistry and the DGT technique in general :-) And I do not assume expert knowledge of any of this! The original inventors of DGT are the best people to speak to if you want to know more :-)

In my previous incarnations, I have been an English teacher in China (like retirement, only paid), and an Environmental Scientist working for local government (as a State of the Environment Coordinator) in New Zealand.

Back then, I noticed that Wikipedia (my favourite source for all information) had no entry for state of the environment reporting... in fact, all articles and references regarding planning and local government in New Zealand were fairly scarce (and were, in some cases, altogether absent). The idea of mass collaboration for the provision of information and education had a huge amount of appeal to me - but then Facebook came along, and there went my idealistic vision of the internet...

Anyhow, I am (still) new to Wikipedia, so there is a good chance I'll screw a lot of things up along the way :-)
