Born and raised in Long Beach, California. I'm a journalist, editorial and content strategist. As a daughter of two Mexican immigrants and the first in my family to receive a college degree, I understand the impact and necessity of providing resources to young at-risk students. For over 10 years I have proudly served on the board as a senior advisor for Embracing Latina Leadership Alliances (ELLAS), a non-profit that aims to inspire and empower underprivileged Latina youth by facilitating academic and leadership opportunities for a higher education in their lives. I've also served as a volunteer for United Friends of the Children (UFC), a non-profit dedicated to bettering the lives of foster children, a particularly special passion point of mine as a former foster youth. As I continue my journey I strive to empower underrepresented communities through my story.
I am Eugene Correa's sister, you can learn more about me in the following article written by La Opinion where Eugene speaks about his upbringing.
