This is a sub county found in Wakiso District. it is allocated a long side Gayaza Rd in between Magigye and Namulonge villages. it has a big no of people over 240000.

ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES
[edit]This sub county has both dry and wet lands which enables farmers to carry out different activities like on the wet lands they;
- They grow yams
- Sugar cane plantations
- Rice to mention but a few

FIRST AID AS A CORE ACTIVITY BY UGANDA RED CROSS SOCIETY
[edit]first Aid This is the first help given to a sick or injured person until full medical treatment is available.
Who is a First Aider in Uganda red Cross Society.
A First Aider is a person who under go training of both basic and standard about First Aid emergency.
First Aider has to deal on causality with the following conditions;
- Shock
- Bleeding conditions
- Burn and Scalds injuries
- Injuries to joints, muscles and ligaments
- Poisoning injuries
- injuries to the head,chest among others
Who is a First Aid trainer in Uganda red Cross Society.
A First Aid trainer is a person who train volunteers both basic, standard and practicals about First Aid emergencies. This person is also called (T.O.T) Trainer of Trainees.
Why Fist Aid? Since it is the immediate assistance given to the causality who has been involved in an accident or a sudden illness before taking him/her to the nearest health unit by using available materials, there are several reasons as to why First Aid has to be done and they include;
- To save life.
- To prevent the condition from getting worse.
- To promote quick recovery.
- To dispose the causality to the health unit.
AREAS WHERE VOLUNTEERS GIVE FIRST AID IN MASAKA
FOOT BALL MATCH As you know when playing foot ball some complication may occur such as sprain, strain, and dislocation.
SPRAIN This is due to a twist which tears or stretches the ligament but does not displace the bones. (okunuuka). This is very common to football players and here a well trained volunteer has to provide First Aid Management to a causality by applying liniment.
STRAIN This is a result of over working the muscles.
DISLOCATION This is the displacement of bones. This injury usually involves a great deal of pain to the patient. Here a First Aider has to give first Aid like
- Mobilize the affected part.
- Support it in comfortable position.
- Take him to the nearest medical unit.
COMMUNITY EMERGENCIES
POISON It is a substance solid or liquid or gas if taken in sufficient amounts can destroy the normal function of the body.
Poisoning is the process by which poison gets into the body. poisoning can be accidental or intentional.
Here if the victim is unconscious, the volunteer has to do the important thing first i.e Mr CAB and these letters standing for; C: Circulation. A: Air way. B: Breathing.
ROAD ACCIDENT This is a collision of one motor vehicle with another, a pedestrian, animal, or a stationary obstruction. Traffic collisions result in injury, death, vehicle damage and property damage. This is very common and if it occurs volunteers has to do the following
- save live of those people who has been injured and their properties.
- Check for the safety of the causality.
- Manage the important signs and symptoms.
- Immobilize the fractured part by use of pads, splints and bandage as necessary.
- Arrange for the transport to the nearest medical units.
FIRE OUT BREAK Fire is a substances which combine chemically with oxygen from the air and typically give out bright light, heat, and smoke.
Here the volunteers give First Aid by;
- Removing the Victim from the cause.
- We have to re-assure the victim.
- If the victim is being attacked by fire we tell him/her to roll on the ground.
- quickly remove tight cloths, rings and watches before swelling begins.
- Carefully cut away clothing that has been soaked in boiling fluids or chemicals.

[edit]When accidents occurs,the branch has volunteers and a steady team know as Red Cross Action Team (RCAT)which deliver first aid to emergency victim before professional paramedics attend. RCAT do not transport patients. Ambulance community officers offer similar services as individuals.

many other ways like Blood Donors, Road safety among others.

Here we mobilize people to donate blood to help those who are in need
- Road Safety
We teach people how safely they can use the road both pedestrians and drivers to reduce on number of accidents that could have happened due to miss use of the road. We teach them Road signs.
- Dissemination
This is the spread of information. Here we go in different areas such as Schools, Institutions, health centers, villages etc spreading information about Red Cross and what we do
- Assimilation
This is where volunteers are trained how to give first aid and handle a victim in case of an accidents.
