  • Description: This source addresses how discriminatory federal and state policies since the post-WWII period created white flight, urban divestment, and directly segregated wealth from minority groups and their white counterparts. This article was incredibly helpful in understanding how the built environment leads to division of resources and opportunities, specifically at the expense of BIPOC communities.   • Description: This study addresses modern segregation of public schools and housing through redlining which consequently leads to drastic differences in learning environments and academic success between white students and students of color. There is an undeniable connection between high-poverty schools being concentrated into the top 20 biggest cities in the U.S. The discussion of historical policies and 21st century statistics was quite informative to this essay.
