Here are some points I noted regarding the background of this user's block log for those who wish to review it.
- Fodbold-fan started editing in January 2015. Over the next couple of months, the user accumulated requests/warnings and was counseled over unsourced content, unreliably sourced content and/or factual errors which was added to possibly a dozen articles (see for example: [1] [2] [3] [4]). From June to August 2015, it is evident that concerns continued to persist ([5] [6] [7]).
- Fodbold-fan was first blocked on 9 October 2015 by User:MusikAnimal|MusikAnimal]] in response to an AIV report by User:Sir Sputnik|Sir Sputnik]] ([8] [9]) that user was still adding unsourced or improperly sourced content.
- A week later, Fodbold-fan was reported by Sir Sputnik for edit-warring over unsourced content, which resulted in User:NeilN|NeilN]] electing to issue another warning in lieu of another block ([10][11]).
- On 25 October 2015, Sir Sputnik expressed concerns on GiantSnowman's talk page about more unsourced edits from Fodbold-fan [12] which prompted GiantSnowman to block Fodbold-fan [13].
- After a couple more warnings in November 2015 from GiantSnowman and Sir Sputnik, Fodbold-fan was blocked by User:KrakatoaKatie|Katie]] which prompted more discussion between Fodbold-fan and Sir Sputnik and an assurance by Fodbold-fan that it would not happen again and a permanent block can be issued if it did [14].
- While there were no more blocks until 2018, concerns, discussion and advice regarding citing sources still persisted ([15] [16] [17] [18] [19] [20] [21]). In 2018, there there were a couple more blocks issued by GiantSnowman due to Fodbold-fan still adding incorrect content and/or improperly sourced content ([22] [23]).
- On returning to edit in 2019 after the blocks expired, Fodbold-fan was citing sources as desired and GiantSnowman issued him a barnstar [24]. I would hazard a guess that the blocks served their purpose according to GiantSnowman at that time. There was a block in July 2019 for breaching 3RR ([25]). However, unsourced edits over the last year or so prompted, for example User:BrownHairedGirl|BrownHairedGirl]] to issue a template warning ([26]), and more concerns recently from GiantSnowman ([27]).
- The cycle of this editor's attitude changed from dismissive to apologetic with promises (with the cycle now repeating itself).
- One question is whether we should be discounting any of the warnings, rounds of feedback or blocks I have cited above (and why).
