Sebastian Kuchczynski[edit]
Sebastian Kuchczynski - (born August 9th, 1986 in Brodnica) is a drummer, composer and arranger. He Graduated from Berklee Collage of Music in Boston, Master's degree. He is an influential jazz, hip hop, funk and pop drummer. He is a member of bands such as "Radiostatik", "Schmidt Electric", "Ola Trzaska" etc. He also plays with George Garzone, Zbigniew Namysłowski i Maciej Sikała.

Music career[edit]
Kuchczynski began his musical education at the age of 5. In 1996 he started playing with a local Brass Band in Brodnica, Poland. He played in Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, France and Netherlands. He attended a music elementary school with a concentration in percussion. While his study there he was a winner of many percussion competitions such as Miastko 1999; Torun 2000; Jaroslaw 2000.
In year 2000, he joined an existing group called "Jazz Sextet" from Grudziadz, whose leader was Tadeusz Linowski. He played in that band for 5 year, playing concerts and going to many international jazz competitions. In 2006, Sebastian began his education at the University of Karol Szymanowski in Katowice, focusing on jazz and contemporary music. That is where he met many accomplished polish and european jazz musicians. He began collaborating with many artists and bands such as Michal Wierba Trio, "Biotone", Maciej Sikala Trio, Przemyslaw Straczek, Bartek Pieszka Quartet, Piotr Wojtasik, Grzegorz Nagorski, Wojciech Myrczek, Maria Guraievska, Inner Spaces, Przemysław Florczak, Janusz Muniak...
In 2008 he received a solo prize in the Open category and a special prize for "THE BIGGEST FESTIVAL's TALENT" on „I’st Tarnów Jazz Contest 2008". The prize was given to him from the leader of the jury John Betsch, who is known for working with Steve Lacy for many years. Next important Award, was a Grand Prix at the international jazz competition "XXXIV Getxo Jazz in Spain" 2010, with a Wierba-Schmidt Quintet, whom he also recorded 3 albums.
After graduating from Academy of Music in Katowice, Kuchczynski moved to Warsaw, where he began collaborates and works with new artists. He started playing with new formed Big Band - Konglomerat lead by Nikola Kolodziejczyk and Michal Tomaszczyk. Sebastian arranged for Big Band a tune called "Passion" written by Zbigniew Seifert, which was performed during "Letnia Akademia Jazzu in Lodz 2015". Together with the rhythm section from the Big Band, he recorded a tune written by Ola Trzaska called "MINUTY" with a guest performance of Ewa Bem. This song was a part of an album called "Albo inaczej" published through Alkopoligamia record label in 2015. One month after the release, the album received a golden status.
In his professional career, Kuchczynski was 3 time nominee for FRYDERYK award in debut album category. Ola Trzaska "All Around" 2013 r. ;Przemysław Florczak "Image Of My Personality" 2011 r.; Biotone "Another Space" 2011 r.
He began playing with Polish-Cuban band called Recicl@-G en Cuero, established by Yoilan Perez Harriette and where we can also find a great Cuban pianist Rey Ceballo. He was a co-organizer of "Film Jazz Project", together with Michael Patches Stewart, who is knows from years of work with Tina Turner, Earth, Wind & Fire, Marcus Miller and Kenny Garret. Sebastian is also working with Lora Szafran, Wojciech Karolak, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Benjiamin Drazen, Dante Luciani, Alex Hutchings, Milo Kurtis, Luis Nubiola, Stavar, Karo Glazer, Łukasz Pawlik, Marysia Sadowska, Sławek Uniatowski, Paweł Domagała, Janusz Skowron, Ola Trzaska, Asia Kondrat, Łukasz Juźko, Anthimos Apostolis.
From 2016, he is a member of soul-hip hop band called "Radiostatik", established by Michał Wróblewski. The lead vocalist Andre Washington, is knows for working with artists such as Beyonce, Aretha Franklin and Raashan Ahma - famous LA rapper. Since 2017, he is a co-founder of funk-soul band called "TIME", started by Kostek Yoriadis, who is known from playing with Lady Punk, Papa Dance, Maanam and "Human". Sebastian recorded a tune called "ZAWSZE MOGE LICZYĆ NA" written by Michał Tomaszczyk from an album called "AŁA" by Tego Typa Mesa and released by Alkopoligamia record label.
In 2017 Sebastian moved to US to study his second master program at Berklee Collage of Music. He was chosen by Danilo Perez and Marco Pignataro to be a part of their program "Berklee Global Jazz Institute". After graduation he moved to NYC to continue various Collaborations: Margaux Vranken, Aaron Holthus, Natalia Lacrete, Jason Yeager, Lior Tzemach, Ori Jakobson, Benjiamin Drazen... As a leader, he founded a band called "Gravity Jazz Collective".
