MyPlayers Rugby represents all the professional rugby players in South Africa as their players’ organisation since 1998 after rugby became a professional sport. Players from the various unions in the South African rugby landscape such as the Lions (Super Rugby), Blue Bulls, Western Province, Cheetahs, Sharks, Leopards, Pumas, SWD Eagles, Griquas, Border, Griffons and the Falcons are members of MyPlayers.

The players’ organisation were started by the rugby players themselves to protect their collective commercial rights within the industry. Over the years, their organisation evolved by extending to take care of their personal development, industrial matters and their financial services products. The players also established their own charity[1] which yearly donates more than R 400 000 to their local communities.

Players also serve on the organisational structures of the players’ organisation as board members, trustees, executive committee members and player representatives.
