Joseph Yun (Born June 7, 1988) is a MLB first baseman starting for the New York Yankees. He was selected 30th overall in the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft by the Yankees.

Professional (Minor League) Career[edit]

After leading Florida State University to a National Championship, he was selected by the Yankees in the first round of the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft. Yun was then immediately sent to the Arizona Fall League for further development by the Yankees during the same year. In 2011, he was sent to AA Trenton after signing a 1 year contract worth $30,000. Yun put up monster stats during his 2011 AA campaign with a line of .450 Average, 284 Hits, 114 Runs scored, 73 Doubles, 4 Triples, 52 HRs, 218 RBIs while leading Trenton to the AA title. He led the Eastern League in virtually all of the batting categories. Joseph Yun was also selected to represent the USA in the Futures game and AA All Star Game. In Early 2012, Yun was resigned on a 1 year deal worth $500,000 and subsequently promoted to AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He again put up a great year although with a slight dip in numbers at his previous AA stop but the team did not make the playoffs however. His AAA line: .435 Avg, 197 Hits, 92 Runs, 61 Doubles, 4 Triples, 34 HRs, 128 RBIs. Yun again led the league in most offensive categories and represented the USA in the Futures game along w/ the AAA All Star Game. He concluded his AAA and minor league career in 2012.

Professional (Major Leagues) Career[edit]

In January 2013, Joseph Yun signed a 2 year $6.7 Million contract with the Yankees to play at the MLB level. The Yankees then promoted him to the starter's role at first base over current incumbent starter Mark Teixiera. He made his Yankee debut on April 5, 2013 against the Baltimore Orioles. Yun came up with another monster statistical season, leading the majors in most batting categories, finishing second to Miguel Cabrera in the MVP race. Joseph finished up with a .409 Avg, 220 Hits, 35 Doubles, 64 Home Runs, 150 RBIs, and 142 Runs Scored. He won numerous awards including the 2013 World Series MVP. Yun also was selected to the All Star and won the annual Home Run Derby contest with a total of 50 HRs in all rounds. Through 84 games of the current 2014 season, Joseph Yun has stayed hot, batting .383 with 36 HRs, 90 RBIs while pounding out 119 Hits in 311 At Bats.

Personal life/Side projects[edit]

Joseph Yun is also recognized throughout the known world as the Los Angeles Lakers General Manager of the Century after pulling off miracle trades on ESPN's famed Trade Machine. Yun is a fan of the NFL's Tennessee Titans, Manchester United F.C., and the NBA's Atlanta Hawks. While a fan of the Titans, he has been globally recognized as the leading expert in all things NFL Draft related. He will undertake a task that no man or woman has ever succeeded in, which is solving the ever growing Middle East peace process very soon. Nobel Peace Prize, come on down!
