Port Mapua Maritime Museum is located at Mapua Wharf, Mapua, Marlborough, New Zealand and is an initiative of the Mapua Boat Club Inc. It consists of photographs, interactive displays and maritime memorabilia detailing the wharf’s history.

History[edit]

The Mapua Boat Club Inc was registered as an incorporated society on 12 November 1987.[1] It was formed by a group of interested people who wished to save the wharf from demolition

and has continued to be run for the enjoyment of people who have a love of the sea and boating. The Boat Club is the guardian of the wharf and maintains the facilities for the benefit of all. Its purpose is to maintain the wharf and.......

Collection[edit]

The Museum displays a large number of photographs illustrating the role played by early Maori, with details of the trading and passenger vessels of the region as well as the cargo they carried. In addition there are displays of artefacts related to maritime activities.
