Award Criteria[edit]
The Most Excellent Order of the Star is awarded for meritorious service to the encyclopedia, in regards to writing, copyediting and other activities requiring skill in written English. It is never awarded for single act, or for work on a single article. Instead, it is awarded for a pattern of service affecting many articles. The Order was first conferred on Wikipedia editors who had copyedited articles totaling more than 80,000 words in a single month.
