Jamie Zeppa (b.1964) is Canadian citizen who after her studies took up an assignment as a voluntary lecturer in English for two years at the Sherubtse College near Tashigong in eastern Bhutan. During this assignment she published a paper titled which was well received based on her experience there, but she was advised to write it in the form of a memoir. On the completion of her assignment she wrote a memoir titled Beyond the Sky and Earth in 1999 which has been widely acclaimed. While in Bhutan she converted to Buddhism, married her student Tshewang Tshering and they have son named Pema. After her divorce, she returned to Canada with her son. She published a novel titled Every Time We Say Goodbye in 2011.

Early life[edit]

Jamie Zeppa was born in Saul Ste. Marie, Ontario, in 1964. She is the daughter of Jamie Zeppa and Judi Zeppa (later Judi Luzzi). When she was two years old her parents separated and her paternal grand parents Patrick (Pete) and Florence Zeppa took care of her. She has a brother.
