The Member of the Executive Board of DEIK
Foreign Economic Relations Council
He was born on 1944 in Savur, Turkey.
After his graduation from Yıldız University Faculty of Chemistry in 1970, he successfully completed the Ph.D. program at Istanbul University Faculty of Management. He worked as an assistant in the Chair of Industrial Inorganic Chemistry between 1973-1976.
Dr. Erdem is
- the Honorary Consul of Spain in Marmara Region ( 10 cities)- Turkey
- a member of the Executive Board of DEIK – Foreign Economic Relations Council,
- the Chairman of DEIK - Turkish-Spanish Business Council,
- the Honorary President of TABA AmCham (Turkish American Business Association),
- the Honorary Consul General of Sudan Republic in Istanbul
- the Member of the Board of Turkish–French Business Council, DEIK
- the Member of the Board of Turkish – Iraqi Business Council, DEIK
- the General Secretary of Turgut Özal Research Foundation for Intellectual Idea Development,
- the member of the Chemistry Foundation of Turkey.
Dr. Erdem is a member of the Global Advisory Board of the George Washington University. Dr. Zeynel Abidin ERDEM, as the chairman of DEIK - Foreign Economic Relations Board - Turkish Spanish Business Council since 1996 is bestowed by His Majesty King Juan Carlos I “Commander of the Order of the Spanish Civil Merit “on 13 December 2002. On 2 February 2006, Dr. ERDEM became the Honorary Consul of Spain of Marmara Region.
On 2 May 2006, the Presidency Counsel of Turkish Parliament has awarded Dr.Zeynel Abidin Erdem with the "Superior Service Award Medal and Title of Privilege" of the Turkish Parliament for his superior servings to Turkish Republic and Nation both in the national and international level, for his contribution to the promotion of Turkey, and for his worthwhile services for the prosperity, education, wellness and social development of the Nation Dr. Erdem is married, and has two children.
