Meaning of Life

I believe the true meaning of life is nothing; everything we are now is from a coincidental chemical reaction. Any meaning that one would try to assign could only be artificial, with no factual basis. Thus, everyone assigns their own meaning that is most convenient for them. Most people tend to see themselves as helpless and dependent when faced with the challenges of life. Therefore they seek to overcome their problems through imagination; they imagine or project an idealized being of goodness or power that can help them. The human mind thinks in such a way that it can't, or rather won't, comprehend the parallel nothingness and infiniteness of the universe. So to avoid logic conflicts, the human mind will artificially assign value, meaning, purpose and order where there is none. Christianity, like any monotheistic religion, is completely made up to satisfy human's inherent insecurity about themselves, life, the afterlife, and the universe as a whole. Humanity is not created in the image of God, but God is created in the image of idealized humanity. People seek in heaven what they cannot find on earth. The entire bible, and any religion really, is just mortal man grasping for a reason to live.

Life's Delights

My Life So Far: I've been into photography for most of my life and have recently come to enjoy "playing" Web page designer here on this site. Being back in college has also afforded me the opportunity to explore many of the joys that I have come to know over the course of my life -- travel, the arts, ancient cultures and maps. I enjoy camping, hiking and backpacking. I collect stamps, enjoy meeting new people and also take pleasure in reading a good book.

Endless Possibilities: Hang gliding, skydiving, hot air ballooning, taking a safari in Africa, rummaging through a good yard sale, and traveling to Costa Rica.

Love and Romance

I live in a small, college community, but even so, there's always so much to see. I love "eye-candy" and Athens has most definitely got its fair share of that. Still though, looking alone won't ever get you anything real or long-term. I've only been truly in love three times in my life, and each of those brought something unique into my life that I'll never forget...

Honesty, communication, compassion, and a sense of humor are the top qualities I look for in someone. I love peoplewho are easy going, and can be comfortable in most situations. The first things I notice about someone is their smile and their eyes. After all, it's the face that we really make love to, isn't it?
