The West Ridge Academy Fighting Eagles represents a high school which is also a residential therapeutic treatment center.[1] West Ridge Academy doesn't measure its students' success by wins and loses. The believe that the measure of success is based upon the overall experience participating in the varsity sport which includes "practices, games, matches, traveling with teammates, working with coaches, elevating their scholastic performances to be eligible to participate, and having their families come to watch them perform."[2]
History
[edit]West Ridge Academy Fighting Eagles have been an official member of the 1A Utah High School Activities Association since 2002. Women's athletics started in 2006-2007 school year because of the new girls program. [3]
Sports
[edit]West Ridge Academy boasts the following sports: Alpine skiing, baseball, men's and women's basketball, Crew, Cross Country, football, golf, snowboarding, soccer, and softball. [4]
The men's baseball team is coached by Jamie Keefer, assistant coaches Mark Gardner, Eric Heaton, and Derick Golightly. [5]
The Lady Eagles Volleyball team is coached by Wendy & Becky Ballard. [6]
