From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ohashiatsu is a type of bodywork method developed by Waturu Ohashi. It combines hands-on touch techniques, limb rotation, stretches and meditation. It also includes “hara reading”, a technique that allows the giver to understand the physical and emotional roots of the receiver’s conditions by applying hands on the circular area located between the receiver’s rib cage and pelvic bone. (2)

It is claimed that the focus of an Ohashiatsu treatment is on the harmony and communication between giver and receiver as well as on the self-awareness and balance for both. (1)

Although Ohashiatsu involves working on the body’s meridians and points that are also the basis of acupuncture, it is claimed that the pressure never becomes painful to the point that the body tenses up. (3) One of the principles of Ohashiatsu is “Just be there. Don’t press”. (1)
