Chicago-based jazz vocalist Paul Marinaro, dubbed as having "one of the most beautiful vocal instruments in the business today" by Howard Reich of the Chicago Tribune, is a modern classic. Paul has quickly made a name for himself, becoming one of the most in-demand and respected male vocalists, and taking "his place among the top five male jazz singers active today." (Scott Yanow, L.A. EARLY YEARS AND EDUCATION[edit]

Paul was born in 1974 in Buffalo, New York. He was the youngest of 10 children. His father, Joseph Marinaro, always wanted to be a singer, but gave up his dreams to maintain the family working as an asphalt paver operator. At the age of 5, Paul found his father’s homemade 78 RPM acetate discs in the attic. He listened to his father singing of "That Old Black Magic", and was mesmerized. This scratchy recording of his father's voice was Paul's first musical inspiration. That was how he felt in love with music.

MUSICAL CAREER[edit]

Paul's demonstrated mastery of voice and a deep passion for the repertoire earns him a big success from his audience. He performs in Chicago's world-famous venues, such as the Joe and Wayne Segal's Jazz Showcase, The Green Mill, Andy's Jazz Club. His debut appearance in 2013 at the Chicago Jazz Festival in Millennium Park was highly acclaimed. He had been mentioned for the "Best Performances of the Year" in the Chicago Tribune in 2013 and 2014.

In 2013, Paul celebrated his widely acclaimed debut album Without a Song, a carefully crafted concept album stemming from and inspired by his father and his father's unfulfilled dream to have been a professional singer. For this album, Paul incorporates the beginnings of his love affair with music, …and it was restored and used to open his debut album 66 years later. Without a Song has gone on to receive widespread acclaim and national airplay, and was named among the "Best of 2013" in the Chicago Tribune. Now in its third pressing, the album will be re-issued in Fall 2015 as a deluxe, limited-edition, audiophile 2 LP Vinyl set. The album and its story went on to inspire acclaimed choreographer, Ron De Jesus, who premiered his original dance suite "Without a Song: Mic Check 1, 2" in April 2014, with Paul and his quartet performing the music live.

On June 10, 2015, he recorded his first live album, One Night in Chicago, being released in Fall 2015. In the summer of 2015, Paul performed with the Chicago Jazz Orchestra for a Sinatra Centennial Concert.

Sinatra -  "For me the alpha and the omega of  vocalists and one who bridges generations and genres. It was the music of Frank Sinatra that served as the biggest influence and inspiration to me, the foundation for all else that I explored musically.  I couldn't be more excited to be performing  these classic arrangements."
