[[1]]BIOGRAPHY
Oscar Lambert Sanders was born on September 10, 1960 in the Bronx, NY to James and Ruby Sanders. Oscar is the youngest of three siblings (Barbara Rucker and James Sanders Jr). His childhood was uneventful and but on the other hand often fun-filled. He attended public schools in the Bronx: PS 140 and JHS 123 before graduating from The New York School Of Printing 1975. Oscar attended Queensborough Community College soon thereafter, before opting to travel as a musician (guitarist) throughout the United States and Europe instead of graduating from college. " I wasn't going to give up an experience of a lifetime-worldwide travel to remain academic, Oscar said at the time.
Oscar traveled throughout the United States and Europe in the 1980's performing with jazz violinist Billy Bang in music festivals, small to medium-sized clubs and venues to enjoyment of enthusiastic audiences. He also recorded three albums-two with Billy Bang under the Polygram (Soul Note) and one under ITM moniker. Sanders also performed live throughout the New York City are and several US cities in pop/original bands like the Harlem based Famaaja and Street Magic Band respectfully.
