Philip G Harris

Philip (or Phil as he prefers to be known) currently works part-time for Blazing Griffin, as social media and communities manager. His job involves maintaining regular updates about their projects whilst interacting with customers through numerous forms of media, utilising the web to the best of its ability to gain the best results. He has also done some background history writing for their Distant Star project.

Phil also works as a welfare rights adviser, ensuring that he understands and addresses his clients concerns to the best of his ability, negotiating with a variety of private and public sector organisations and representing people at a variety of Tribunals.

Conpulsion, Scotland’s Premier Gaming Convention, based in Edinburgh, is also run by Phil, Conpulsion supports a different local charity each year, and is a heady mix of board, roleplaying (RPG), live action roleplaying (LARP) and wargames - with a variety of talks about design, art and gaming as a whole.

In his previous role as Editor-In-Chief of SquareGo he took the online magazine to new heights, running a remote writing staff of over thirty and maintaining integrity and consistency throughout the magazine’s copy.

Phil has also worked with The Story Mechanics (formerly Digital Adaptations), adapting notable works into interactive experiences and have helped other games company start ups in a variety of roles, from advising to design.

Finally, with the DWP, he undertook a number of specialist roles which included negotiation, policy writing and input into business communications strategies.
