It was built by a German settlement along the Susquehanna river. A settlement that was procured with a treaty between Chief Shickellamy and Conrad Weisor. The structure was built as a union church - German Reformed and Lutheran combined together. The Reformed congregation was the most prominent in this instance. Most of the churches in the area were an offshoot of this congregation. Harold (Hap) Hinchcliffe is an active member of the Historical Society and is in large part responsible for caring for this magnificent structure and the adjoining cemetery. This summer of 2013 the outside has been restored and the windows repaired. Old River Church Cemetery, Wapwallopen I am trying to catalogue everyone in the cemetery and their family history. Would you be willing to share your family history with me to include with the Historical Society. I would like you to include your name, address, and contact information and a copy of your history. What ever you feel comfortable sharing
