Personal Life

[edit]

The Jagne family is an Afro-Latino rights activist family who immigrated to Spanish Harlem in New York.  They’ve strived to provide their community, especially the Afro-Latino community, with sources of pride for their culture and education on where their culture comes from and how it adds to American culture.

Fighting Discrimination

[edit]

The Jagnes have worked closely with community groups, famously known for their close work with the Young Lords of New York, a Puerto Rican organization that works for self-determination of Puerto Rico and the civil rights of the Puerto Rican diaspora in the United States mainland.

Working with Community

[edit]

The Jagne family has given many people in their neighborhood and city the chance to learn more about their cultural and ethnic heritage and see the contributions by people in their community.
