A portal A by Pasha Ra.

A portal A is a series of art installations presented at different geographic locations of the Earth: in the South, North, East, and West. The work sees itself as the opening in thinking new ideas in art reflective of social living in order to create visual environments as they relate to the particular locale and our current times of change.

The first installment from this series is Portal Do Sul. South Gate, a landscape art installation in Pinga Rio Valley, Sao Paulo, Brazil. It incorporated the architectural elements of Southern Brazil, the gates, to serve as a metaphor for country's potential in terms of its cultural and economic development. Portal Do Sul instigated the notion that because of Brazil's unique history, diverse human and intellectual resources and it's geographic location in the south, the country may present the world with new modes of social living uninfluenced by the dominance of the northern mentality. That's our hope and the sculptures installed in Pinga Rio Valley stand up for the purity of such vision. These works will remain on view for at least 3 years and have been documented on film and with still images. The book publishing is undertaken.  More information on Portal Do Sul can be found at:portal do sul

The further development of A portal A installations.

Currently, the location research is underway for the next three installments representing the North, East, and West.  The particular human values, traditions, and aspirations of various local cultures are being studied and carefully considered to represent the common philosophical string of universal quality developed in the given region. This specific quality will grant the entry into A portal A series and will serve as an aesthetic corner stone for the site-specific installation. The fundraising is undertaken as well as the publicity measures to further advance the vision of A portal A installation series.

CROSSED HOUSE. Pasha Radetzki; March 5--28th, 2009; Zone: Contemporary Art, 41 West 57 St., New York

for my family

Crossed House is an environment where in a large scale sculpture the cross cuts through the house -- trans-space. The work adopts the Slavic nesting Doll within the Doll Matryoshka construction tradition to present the house in all it's dimensions, expanded and interconnected. The installation evokes the micro-macro form interrelations as multiple houses are built within the space of one. The cross conjuncts them at its axis, inside the actual house, where everyday life unfolds. p.r.
