User:Pattern maker

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm Kathleen Fasanella and I've worked in the needle trades (AKA apparel industry) for 25+ years, mostly as a pattern maker. I am author of _The Entrepreneur's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing_ and will be contributing copyrighted material here from that book. In addition, I keep at blog at http://www.fashion-incubator.com; the primary focus of which is nurturing emerging design talent with respect to the nuts and bolts of production and pattern making. As such, I am keenly interested in the technical aspects of garment manufacturing. I am a voting member of ASTM committee D-13 responsible for specifications regarding the fit and sizing of apparel, fabric and fiber characteristics, seam formation and the like so I have a wealth of reference material to contribute.

My hobbies are pattern making, sewing, reading and writing. I am married with one child. I live in Las Cruces NM USA.
