From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paul-Henri Prévot works as a project leader at the Vision Institute under the supervision of Serge Picaud. His research deals with the ex-vivo and in-vivo testing of new photovoltaic retinal implants developed by the French start-up Pixium Vision in rodents and primates. The goal of these implants is to restore sight to patients with Retinitis Pigmentosa or Aged-Related Macular Degeneration. These diseases lead to the degeneration of photoreceptors in the retina and these implants are aimed at stimulating the remaining neural cells inducing sight perception. Paul-Henri previously obtained his PhD at the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia) on suprachoroïdal retinal prostheses fabrication under the supervision of Pr Nigel Lovell and François Ladouceur after completing his engineering degree at the Central Lyon School (France).
