==== Paul Needs (born 26/12/1959 in Port Talbot, Wales, UK) is a multi instrumentalist , songwriter, singer and producer.

His first band started in 1978 and was named GPI (Later The Reactions) with Peter Watkins (guitar/vocals), Gareth Thomas (bass guitar) and Gary Richards (drums). Later personel saw Thomas and Richards leave the band, with Michael Morales joining on drums and Needs moving to bass guitar.

Needs left in 1987 to work at Micronet 800, but returned to music once British Telecom closed the service.

Paul then joined a band which played social and workingmen's clubs in Wales, UK, before moving on to work as a solo performer throughout the UK. He released a number of recordings, Songs From The Long Land and "Hot & Cool".

n the early hours of December 27th 2012, Guitar-vocalist Paul Needs was carrying his equipment out from another successful Boxing Day show in Cardiff.

Four steps from the bottom of the staircase at the Cardiff Bus Sports Social Club, he missed a stair & fell headlong to the bottom, tipped over by the gear he was carrying, & severely bending his neck in the process. This resulted in paralysis, some of which appears to be permanent.

Just 5 months after his accident, Paul is not only out of hospital & still recovering, but he has written new material describing his experiences, which he has recorded at his home studio in Briton Ferry. "While it was all incredibly scary, & somewhat undignified in being fed, catherised & using a bed pan, I was really happy to be there. The staff were all absolutely incredible – in all departments – the nurses were amazing & took fantastic care of me, & physiotherapy got me on my feet & using at least one of my arms again".

His last original album, "Songs From The Long Land" is available world-wide via CDBaby.com e-commerce web site, and is also available for download from Apple iTunes and Microsoft's MSN Music.
