Perhaps the greatest champion of beauty is you, yes you, that makes everyone to dream about Rwenzori and our district - then you also are the one to keep this in your heart, our loved beauty and be prepared to stand up and defend it.

BDDI - YS can take up the fight, we can stand against the horrors of wrong politics and social consequences, our efforts can lead to the creation of the work and trust and to bring our ideas about good planning, biotourism, with its aims of “the home healthy, the house beautiful, the town pleasant, the city dignified and the suburbs salubrious for our tourist”.

Then, beauty matter enough to shape policy for the public good - not only to meet people’s basic human needs but also their spiritual, physical and cultural interests for what we are and what we have.

The designation of our National Parks, the protection of our cultural heritage and access to the countryside sat alongside the universal youth right to education, to work, and be part of som welfare we are talking about, when we understand that, as we seem to have forgotten now, that our human spirit is not satisfied by material progress alone: “Everybody needs beauty as well as bread.” and we have been around with some our tourist, they loved it.

Yet today we seem to have become seduced by what they call “economism”: that which “can build a society which is rich, prosperous, powerful, even one which has a reasonably wide diffusion of material wellbeing. But it cannot build one which is lovely, one which has savour and depth, and which exercises the irresistible power of attraction that loveliness wields. " - this is what we do not need and today when I talk about progress I mean more than only economic progress, and our measure of that is GDP.

You should know that GDP charts only income, expenditure and production, and doesn’t even try to count the many things that matter but money can’t buy, the things that make us happy, and the natural resources on which we all depend. So please let it flatters us into thinking things are going well while we are not destroying our long-term future - we need to feel what's enough for sure, for being happy and proud.

Over the last year we have lost some interest for richness of western world, and gain more interest for nature and much of the diversity of our landscape; we have a lot to offer our tourism with our soils and natural resources - that for sure made to what we become and it is clear we need to do things differently. Tourism love the moments because they isn’t afraid to ruffle feathers and the beauty can help us. Beauty is not just about aesthetics: it is a way of looking at the world that values the things we can’t put a material price on, as well as the things that we can measure. We seek prosperity, but we need a different kind of progress. We live in an era where fewer of us are driven by religious imperatives, but we are not lacking in spirituality, nor in the capacity to be moved to strive for better things.

Our beauty can give shape to that yearning !! Imagine how the world would look if we revived the fight for beauty. We would care more for the world around us. We’d build and develop more beautifully – imagine the debate about BDDI - YS if we had set out to make it the most beautiful new tourism in the world. We’d protect our nature, while still producing enough food. We’d care for our cultural inheritance and focus on improving our quality of life rather than striving for unsustainable levels of growth.

BDDI - YS it's all about the beautiful in the general, it's all about taking time to describe development issues and the overall business situation's outstanding character in this new district. For sure there been done some field work we became aware of - still to simple and not good enough - for if we take time to calculate everyday situations there could be very touching for most people. There is need for more and better fieldwork and BDDI - YS can make it real if informal contact with district office was created with identity-building situations with great power for youth.

Nevertheless, and maybe even, youth have something to do, which means that what is happening there can be perceived as authentic, and for sure we can use all the data in a single analysis of what BDDI - YS call vision for love bearing interaction situation for our new district incl. development issues. BDDI - YS have found useful contributions in this way at Erving Goffman 'The Tourist' and we try, by means of the empirical material we allready have to do what Goffman suggests in the introductory statement, but as he does not develop further: Love Expression in the general.

BDDI - YS are looking for more than one pleasant and competitive promoters that thrives with new ideas and development issues. They will play a fundamental role in achieving BDDI - YS ambitious tourism acquisition and revenue growth objectives for our new district. They should come from both outside and inside Uganda and they must be comfortable making dozens of ideas/services and presentations, generating interest and qualifying development issues and prospects.

Let us add there's lot of love, as so often, and we have the words for it: the fight for beauty is “not blind opposition to progress, but opposition to blind progress”. It’s a fight to which we all need to belong, even if not born into it still our destiny to be.
