Sessorizing is the quality of an experience, especially in correlation to leisure time. This term reflects neologism: a relatively recent or isolated term, word, or phrase that may be in the process of entering common use, but that has not been fully accepted into mainstream language.

Sessorizing experienced or practiced during a person's free time, which is spent away from employment, domestic chores, and education. Done for "its own sake" sessorizing emphasizes the quality of experience and involvement in relation to one's perceived freedom and choice.

Experientially, sessorizing is the ability to detach from encumbrances and expectations for the full benefit of "letting go" for the sake of personal enjoyment.

Sessorizing is not easy to define due to the multiplicity of approaches used to determine its essence. Originally termed by Dr. Joanne Isham from Pepperdine University and Dr. Richard Henderson from Grand Canyon University, the definition and use of “sessorizing” is gaining recognition as a widely adopted and accepted term within the scholastic community.
